According to a recent report from Corriere dello Sport, ex Tottenham Hotspur forward Fernando Llorente looks increasingly likely to move to Serie A as both Inter Milan and Lazio step up their pursuit of the Spanish forward. He is going to be available on a free transfer after leaving North London earlier on during the summer, with Inter considering him to be the perfect replacement for Edin Dzeko.
While he may not be viewed as the most technical striker in world football, Llorente’s ability to pop up in the right places seemed to turn him into a brief cult hero for Spurs last season. His goal against Manchester City in the Champions League, in particular, was a big moment in the club’s campaign.
Either Inter or Lazio would certainly serve as a suitable home for this legendary goalscorer, but it feels like the battle between the two clubs to sign him is far from over.
