(GSM) – World champions Spain did as expected to beat Lithuania 3-1 in Friday’s Euro 2012 qualifying action.
Vicente Del Bosque’s men struggled in the first half but needed only two minutes in the second for Fernando Llorente to break the deadlock.
Fans at Salamanca’s El Helmantico stadium were allowed only seven minutes to celebrate that goal as Darvydad Sernas restored the balance in the 54th minute.
But Llorente insisted on keeping Spain in the lead and netted his second goal just two minutes after the equaliser. David Silva made it 3-1 in the 79th minute.
Spain are in first place in Group I with six points from two games. Lithuania remain in third with four points from three matches.
