Spanish striker Fernando Llorente has informed Athletic Bilbao chiefs that he is only interested in joining Juventus, according to AS.
The same source understands that the player made a personal plea to club chairman Josu Urrutua to accept the €21 million offer from Juventus.
The highly rated forward is followed by a number of clubs all over Europe and his agent recently revealed that English Premier League was likely going to be the player’s next destination.
However, after Juventus made the official bid for his services, thus proving they are very keen on the player, Llorente decided to try and engineer a move to Turin.
The 27-year-old has just one year left on his contract and a €36 million release clause inserted in the deal, and so far Athletic chiefs were not willing to lower their asking price.
The player has now urged Athletic president to accept the offer from Juventus and allow him to continue his career in Italian Serie A.
