According to Marca, Marcos Llorente is set to make a decision on his future around Christmas time. The 23 year old recently took the reins from an injured Casemiro, but prior to that, he’d barely been given any playing time.
He’s still got plenty of time to grow and develop, but he’s been with Real since the youth level meaning that he’s been there for a decade now. There’s clearly not been much progress here and while he could always flip some opinions, it feels more like the midfielder is destined to go elsewhere.
If he does then he’ll likely have a huge chip on his shoulder, which could actually end up benefitting both him and the next club he signs for. Real have been known to leave players out in the cold in the past, and if that’s what is happening again, there should be a series of clubs willing to give him a shot.
