Llorente wowed by Schalke´s Raul

Fernando Llorente has praised Schalke veteran Raul after Athletic Bilbao’s 4-2 Europa League win over the Bundesliga team on Thursday.

Hosts Schalke went down to their Spanish visitors in the first leg of the quarter-final at the Veltins-Arena, but Raul still managed to net twice in the match.

And Spain international Llorente was impressed with the former Real Madrid forward’s predatory instincts.

“That b*****d Raul just keeps on scoring, he’s simply incredible,” Llorente told Marca.

“Schalke have players who can be very dangerous, especially in midfield and attack, with Raul, (Klaas-Jan) Huntelaar and (Jefferson) Farfan for example.”

Llorente went on express his delight with Athletic’s victory, but stressed that the tie is not over yet.

“I think the result is a fair one, we had another three clear chances, and I think we can be happy,” he said.

“But we can’t get carried away and relax. We need to play a very serious match not to have any problems.”

Athletic return to La Liga action on Saturday, when they travel to face reigning champions Barcelona.
