Newcastle United have completed the signing of Lloyd Kelly, according to Fabrizio Romano. The well-known and well-respected Italian journalist has reported on X that Kelly has signed a five-year contract with Newcastle.
Kelly will join Newcastle on a free transfer. The defender is out of contract at Bournemouth at the end of the month, and it has been already announced that he will not sign a new deal with the Cherries. The Magpies have managed to convince the 25-year-old, who can operate as a centre-back or as a left-back, to make the switch to St. James’ Park.
Romano wrote on X: “Lloyd Kelly has signed five year contract as Newcastle player, deal 100% completed.”
Kelly has made 54 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career. The defender has given three assists and kept 10 clean sheets in those games. Newcastle finished seventh in the Premier League table last season with 60 points from 38 games.
