This is some summer for Giovani Lo Celso! The Argentine midfielder has signed for Real Betis at the end of the season, following the club’s activation of the option-to-buy clause in his loan deal, snapping him up from Paris Saint-Germain. However, Lo Celso could be moving away from his new permanent club, with reports from Premier League being the most vocal.
According to ABC, Lo Celso has asked Betis to be allowed to leave the club just weeks after signing from PSG. The player was rumoured for a quick move to England, as Betis were looking to cash in on his great loan season at the Seville club, but in the past two weeks, things have slowed down and the player is apparently unhappy about that.
Reportedly, both Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with the Argentina international, but the problem in this whole potential deal could be Betis themselves. The La Liga side has been rumoured to value the player at €75m and for anyone to make progress in talks, they will have to make such a huge bid before Betis let the 23-year-old leave the club.
