“No. I want him to stay with me, to stay with us. I think there is no chance”.
Those are the words of Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri when discussing the possibility of Ruben Loftus-Cheek departing Stamford Bridge. The midfielder, who scored against local rivals Fulham at the weekend, is doing everything in his power to prove to Sarri that he is capable of doing some big things at the club – and at the moment, it seems to be paying off for him.
Loftus-Cheek has made it clear in the past that he’d rather stay and fight for his job with Chelsea than choose to go elsewhere, and that’s not because he hates the idea of another transfer. He simply knows that he’s more than good enough to lock down a place in their starting XI, and it’s just a case of putting that into practice.
Chelsea will return to action tomorrow night against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
