Loic Remy drops quit hint
Marseille forward Loic Remy admits that he could leave Velodrome for greener pastures at the end of the season.
The 25-year-old has been in brilliant form since arriving from Nice in August 2010 and is now regarded as one of the best forwards in French Ligue 1.
He was on the verge of joining Liverpool in January, but the transfer never materialized.
Clubs are now lining up for the talented forward as he prepares to leave France at the end of the season.
“I could play on the pitches of the English championship, the Spanish, the Italian, but one thing at a time”, Remy said to Surface Magazine.
“I’m trying to finish the season well with my club.”
The player doesn’t want anything to distract him while preparing for the Euro 2012 and, therefore, plans to decide on his future after the tournament in Poland and Ukraine.
“If indeed I have the opportunity to go to the Euros, I want to have a very good Euros – after that we’ll see.”
Brazilian star welcomes Juventus interest
Vasco da Gama defender Dede explains that he is flattered by the reported interest from Serie A giants Juventus.
The Bianconeri have been following the highly rated defender for a while now and they are now ready to materialize their interest.
The 23-year-old, who already had two Brazil caps to his name, admits he is proud to be linked with such a great club.
“Yes, playing for Juve would be wonderful,” Dede told the Gazzetta dello Sport. “I come from the same city as Felipe Melo and had the chance to talk about it with him.
“He described a very solid club and fans who follow them to every corner of Italy.
“I am happy at Vasco, but I am certainly proud to have attracted interest from Juventus.”
Dede has a contract until June 2014 at Vasco da Gama, which means that he won’t come cheap should Juve decide to sign him.
The player doesn’t hold an EU passport, and that could prove to be a problem when moving to Italy.
Napoli president confident of Cavani stay
Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has slammed Uruguay coach Oscar Tabarez for his comments regarding the future of Edinson Cavani.
The Uruguay national team boss urged Cavani to leave San Paolo, but his comments were met with angry reaction from Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis.
“Tabarez said he should leave? First he should be thinking about his own house, whilst it remains to be seen if clubs in England or Spain have the money to buy him,” De Laurentiis told Sky Italia.
“I hear people say there is no money (at Napoli), but nobody talks to me about it.
“When I bought Vargas I had to fork out a lot – if I pay €12m for the Chilean then that means a bid for Cavani will have to be at his valuation.
“Also, Cavani is a serious person, who does not betray the team that he plays for.”
After scoring 26 league goals last term, the Uruguayan forward has bagged 15 goals in 23 Serie A games this season and he is currently one of the most sought-after players in world football.
