Lokomotiv Moscow have joined the race for Portuguese striker Hugo Almeida, Izvestia has revealed.
Boss Leonid Kuchuk is not entirely satisfied with his attacking options and he plans to add another quality forward to his ranks.
And according to Izvestia, Besiktas star Hugo Almeida appears to be one of the first names on his hit-list.
The 30-year-old has already made a decision to leave the Black Eagles when his contract expires in June and he could be tempted by what should be a lucrative offer from Russia.
Considering that the striker is available on a free transfer, Lokomotiv officials are aware the club will not lose any money in case Almeida fails to prove his worth in Russian Premier League.
The powerful striker has registered 37 goals in 88 league appearances for Besiktas, while he is set to take part at the 2014 World Cup, where Portugal are 28/1 to go all the way.
