Tottenham and Chelsea are locked in the battle for Udinese defender Mehdi Benatia, according to talkSPORT.
The Moroccan is widely regarded as one of the best central defenders in Serie A and he is expected to leave for greener pastures in the summer.
Benatia, 25, has been linked with a switch to the Emirates in the past, but it appears that Tottenham and Chelsea have joined the chase as well.
Top Italian clubs are also rumoured to be keeping close tabs on the Morocco international, who looks destined for a big club move in the summer transfer window.
Mehdi Benatia began his professional career at Tours and went on to play for Lorient and Clermont before joining Udinese in the summer of 2010.
The highly rated defender quickly nailed down a regular starting berth at Stadio Friuli, making a total of 74 Serie A appearances and scoring 5 goals in the process.
