“You can sometimes get distracted by the outside noise and, maybe for a little bit in the summer, I did,” he said.
“It’s hard not to when you go anywhere and you see your face on the front of a newspaper or you turn the telly on and people are talking about you.
“It’s not like they’re talking about little things, they’re talking about stuff that can change your life, really.”
Those are the words of Newcastle United midfielder Sean Longstaff, who has made it known that he was a little bit distracted during the summer transfer window courtesy of the many links that were made between him and Manchester United.
The club were unable to meet Newcastle’s £50 million valuation of Longstaff, which ensured that they had to move on.
Despite that, the expectation is that Longstaff will be a source of great interest from United in the January window and beyond.
