According to a recent report from Sky Sports, Newcastle United star Matty Longstaff looks set to sign for Serie A club Udinese after talks broke down between him and the Magpies.
The 20-year-old had previously flown out to Italy for talks with Udinese prior to the lockdown, with the belief being that he has been offered a lucrative contract in order to leave Newcastle. He’s reportedly desperate to stay at the club, but with an offer of £30,000 per week coming in for his services, he’s been forced to make a tough decision.
He turned down a long term contract of around £15,000 per week earlier on in the season, and with Newcastle not yet returning to put in another offer, it seems like just a matter of time before his switch away from the Premier League is complete. With that being said, the uncertainty surrounding the transfer window could throw that into some doubt.
