According to a recent report from Sky Sports News, Newcastle United manager Steve Bruce is set to sit down with Sean Longstaff in the next few days in order to tell him that he is a key part of his plans for the upcoming domestic season. Manchester United are believed to be very interested in the possibility of bringing him to Old Trafford, but now that Bruce has linked up with his players in China, it is believed that he is going to make a real play for the youngster to stay at the club. Longstaff is, weirdly enough, said to be interested in the idea of Bruce taking charge, and is really keen to impress him and become a regular member of the starting XI next season.
Of course, Manchester United also feel the same way about the youngster himself, with Solskjaer being very intrigued by his potential. Alas, United aren’t willing to pay the £50 million that Newcastle have been asking for, which looks like it could be the biggest stumbling block in this potential deal.
