Sky Sports is reporting that Liverpool are set to complete the signing of German goalkeeper Loris Karius from Mainz.
The two clubs are close to reaching an agreement over the transfer fee, believed to be around €6 million.
Karius has been given permission to undergo medical examination in England, which is enough to suggest that the deal will be wrapped up in the coming days.
Liverpool were determined to sign a quality shot-stopper to challenge Simon Mignolet for a starting berth, and they believe the German goalkeeper will be a useful addition to the squad at Anfield.
Loris Karius came through the youth ranks at Mainz and he didn’t need a lot of time to prove his worth in the senior squad.
The 22-year-old already has 91 Bundesliga appearances to his name and it seems he has done enough to secure a lucrative move to English Premier League.
