(GSM) – Germany manager Joachim Low is reportedly set to be offered a new contract to remain at his post. Low has guided Germany to the semi-finals of the World Cup and he will be rewarded with a new contract, according to newspaper Bild..
Low has built an exciting young side which defied the odds to reach the semi-finals before losing to Spain 1-0. However, the Germany boss had been out of contract with the national team since the end of June after talks with the federation broke down.
According to Bild, talks over a new contract broke down over financial disagreements with Low’s desire to have more control over the Under-21 team coming under criticism from the federation.
German Football Federation president Theo Zwanziger has insisted that while a deal was likely, further talks were needed.
“The decision has been taken to meet after the finals are over and things have calmed down,” said Zwanziger.
“Joachim Low knows that we want to stick with him and I believe the chances of that being the case are good.”
