RB Leipzig have appointed former Bayern Munich assistant Zsolt Low as their new head coach on a contract until the end of the 2024-25 season.
Leipzig parted ways with Marco Rose earlier on Sunday following their 1-0 defeat to Borussia Monchengladbach, a result that leaves them sixth in the table.
Low operated as Thomas Tuchel’s assistant manager during his spells with Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea and Bayern Munich.
The 45-year-old also previously spent time with Leipzig between 2015 and 2018, working under both Ralph Hasenhuttl and Ralf Rangnick as an assistant manager.
Leipzig have won three of their past 11 Bundesliga games but are only three points below the Champions League qualification places with seven matches remaining.
Zsolt Löw has been named as the new head coach of RB Leipzig. The 45-year-old will sign a contract until the end of the 2024/25 season and will take charge of his first training session on Monday. Peter Krawietz will be Low’s assistant coach in Leipzig.

Low will take charge of his first training session with his new team on Monday ahead of Leipzig’s DFB-Pokal semi-final clash with Stuttgart later this week.
“We’ve still got the chance to achieve our goals in two competitions,” Low said in a statement from the club.
“We’ll do everything we can to reach the DFB-Pokal final in Berlin and get the most out of the remaining Bundesliga matches.”
Peter Krawietz, who was Jurgen Klopp’s assistant manager at Mainz, Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool, will be Low’s right-hand man.
