Livorno president Aldo Spinelli has confirmed that they have given up hope of signing Cristiano Lucarelli from Parma.
The 33-year-old’s move looks likely to fall through because of his agent’s excessive financial demands, according to the Livorno president.
“Due to the continuing and unjustified requests from the player’s agent, the club have concluded the negotiations in a negative way,” he told Sky Italia .
“We have had a lot of quarrels in the past and I don’t want to restart. I don’t have the will.
“Lucarelli phoned me saying his agent can’t lose money. I told him that this was not my problem.
“I called (Tommaso) Ghirardi (Parma president) and I told him that I don’t want to continue.
“I’m only sorry for Parma who have shown a big responsibility with the player.”
