Lucas Barrios agrees Guangzhou move
Chinese side Guangzhou Evergrande have announced the signing of forward Lucas Barrios from Borussia Dortmund.
The German club will pocket €8.5 million from the transfer, while Bild understands that the player will be earning €6.7 million per campaign.
The Paraguayan international was heavily linked with a summer exit after becoming disillusioned with life at Signal-Iduna Park.
Barrios has lost his place in the starting line-up this term and was mostly restricted to substitute appearances after missing the start of the season through injury.
He has now decided to accept a lucrative contract offer from Gunagzhou and Borussia Dortmund chief Hans-Joachim Watzke reveals the club didn’t want to stand in his way.
“This is Lucas’ decision. He wanted to start a new adventure once again,” Watzke told Bild.
“We have always had a fair relationship. It is clear that he wants to play. He had great years here. We are indebted to him.”
Agent reveals Pogba set to decide on his future
The agent of Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has revealed that his client will reach a decision regarding his future next week.
The highly rated youngster has less than two months left on his deal at Old Trafford and Manchester United have already offered him a contract extension.
However, Juventus are also keen on the 19-year-old and the player is now set to choose between the two offers.
His representative has hinted that Manchester United stay could be a more realistic option.
“I don’t know [which way it will go between United and Juventus],” Raiola is quoted as saying in The Times.
“It could be United. I will know next week.
“I think Paul’s positive about Ferguson. The boy has a difficult decision to make.”
The young midfielder has seen little playing time this season, having started three Carling Cup games, while making another three substitute appearances in the Premiership.
Borussia M’gladbach keeping tabs on Luuk de Jong
Borussia Moenchengladbach are showing interest in Twente striker Luuk de Jong, De Telegraaf reports.
The German club are set to stay without their best player Marco Reus, who has agreed to join Borussia Dortmund at the end of the season, and die Fohlen are now looking for his replacement.
According to De Telegraaf, Borussia are weighing up move for Eredivisie hotshot Luuk de Jong.
The highly rated forward has been in fine form this season, scoring 23 goals in 30 Eredivisie games and the Dutch newspaper claims top European clubs are lining up for his signature.
Twente plan to keep hold of their prized asset for at least another season, but the player could be interested in a move to one of the top European leagues.
The Tukkers currently occupy 6th place in the Eredivisie standings and should they miss out on European qualification, it will be very difficult for them to hold on to the young striker.
