Anderlecht midfielder Lucas Biglia has confirmed speculations that he is set to leave Belgium at the end of the season.
The Argentine international has caught the attention of major European clubs some few years ago, but the Belgian giants somehow managed to keep hold of their prized asset.
Biglia has another three years left on his deal at Constant Vanden Stock, but he believes the time has come for him to look for a new club.
“My cycle in Anderlecht is ending,” the highly rated midfielder was quoted as saying in Portuguese newspaper A Bola.
The 26-year-old then explained that he would like to continue his career in Spanish La Liga.
“My dream is to play in Spain. This is one of the best leagues in the world and I’m attracted to the country, given I’m already fluent in the language.”
Biglia joined Anderlecht from Independiente in 2006 and has since developed into one of the best holding midfielders in Europe.
The Argentine has featured in 27 league games for Anderlecht this term and has scored two goals in the process, while he has amassed 6 caps for the national team since making his debut last year.
