Serie A giants Inter Milan are keeping close tabs on Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva, Tuttosport can reveal.
Following the dismal start to the season, the Nerazzurri are searching for January reinforcements, and they are looking at a number of high-profile footballers.
According to Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, Liverpool’s Lucas Leiva is one of the players on their radar.
The Brazilian has seen very little playing time since Brendan Rodgers took over the reigns and he has been heavily linked with a move away from Anfield.
Former Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez is reportedly hoping to lure him to Napoli, but Inter Milan have emerged as the favourites for his signature.
Lucas Leiva has a contract until June 2017 at Anfield, but it is perfectly clear he is currently not in the first team plans of manager Brendan Rodgers.
The 27-year-old has spent last seven years with the Reds, making 182 Premier League appearances and scoring 1 goal.
