Lucas Moura urges Oscar to join PSG

Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Lucas Moura has revealed he would be happy to see compatriot Oscar join the club from Chelsea in the summer.

Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Lucas Moura has revealed he would be happy to see compatriot Oscar join the club from Chelsea in the summer.

The French champions, who are scheduled to host Chelsea in the first leg of UEFA Champions League quarter-finals on Wednesday night, are reportedly contemplating a £41.5 million offer to lure Oscar to the Parc des Princes.

A massive offer could tempt the Blues to sell the Brazilian maestro, especially when considering the form of André Schürrle.

Schürrle, 23, joined Chelsea from Bayer Leverkusen in a deal worth around €21 million in June 2013 and has gone to score seven goals in 24 English Premier League appearances, including a hat-trick in the West London derby against Fulham earlier this month.

Meanwhile, Oscar has struggled in recent weeks despite impressive tallies of 13 goals and six assists in 45 appearances in all competitions this season but Lucas Moura is still convinced the 22-year-old would be a good signing for the Ligue 1 leaders.

“Oscar is a very good player,”Moura said. “A rare talent in today’s football, given his qualities.

“He is very complete and is very smart. We need someone like him at PSG.

“I think he would help us a lot. The more quality players there are, the better it is for the squad.

“Also, he’s a very good friend of mine. I would be very happy if he came to PSG, the club too.”

Sporting play down William Carvalho exit rumours

Sporting CP president Bruno de Carvalho has moved to rubbish reports suggesting midfielder William Carvalho is looking to leave the club when the transfer window re-opens in the summer.

Carvalho, a reported target for Chelsea, Manchester United and Real Madrid, has a massive €45 million buy-out clause in his current contract, which is due to expires on 30 June 2018, at the Estádio José Alvalade.

The Angolan-born Portugal international, 21, looks a real talent, having scored three goals in 23 league appearances from defensive midfield this term, but his valuation is ridiculous.

After all, Eden Hazard — the UNFP Ligue 1 Player of the Year in 2010/11 and 2011/12 — moved from Lille to Chelsea for ‘just’ £32 million in June 2012.

“We are calm although every day there are stories in the papers appearing about the sale of our player,” the club’s supremo told TVI 24.

“Sporting is not a club exclusively just for the sale of players. If a club pays 45m euro then it is not necessary to speak, but I think William does not want to leave Sporting.

“At the moment it is more likely that he will sign a new deal. Personally, I say that the kid is content at Sporting.”

Should Chelsea, Manchester United or Real Madrid pay €45 million for the services of William Carvalho?
