Australian defender Lucas Neill is about to sign a contract with Everton.
The 31-year-old has been a free agent since his contract with West Ham United expired this summer.
Neill was linked with Galatasaray and Atletico Madrid this summer but it appears he is set to join the Toffees.
Everton boss David Moyes targeted the versatile defender after captain Phil Neville suffered a serious knee injury in the game against Fulham, last weekend.
Everton has offered Neill a contract for a year with the option for a further year extension at the end of the season.
