Competition: La Liga
Market: Lucas Ocampos to score anytime
Odds: 21/10 @ Bet 365
With La Liga making its return to action this week, local bragging rights will be up for grabs when Sevilla welcome Real Betis to an empty Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán on Thursday night.
Starting with the hosts, picking up a point against Atletico Madrid in the capital prior to the break and with a Europa League quarter-final to look forward to, the mood in Sevilla’s camp should be at a high on their return this week. With a Champions League finish at the top of their agenda, former Spain boss Julen Lopetegui will be calling for talisman Lucas Ocampos to carry on from where he left off in March. Once again finding the net away at the Wanda Metropolitano prior to the break, the 25-year-old has been continuously linked with a move to some of Europe’s elite and was enjoying a remarkable purple patch before the interruption. The only player at the Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán to reach double digits this season, Ocampos had previously found the net in each of his last four La Liga appearances on the bounce.
As for the visitors, while Real Betis might have found themselves in the midst of yet another sluggish patch prior to the break, Los Verdiblancos did send shockwaves across Spain last time out. Picking up a stunning 2-1 win against title challengers Real Madrid at the Estadio Benito Villamarín, Rubi’s men are simply looking to kick-start their campaign on their return to action. However, losing back-to-back meetings against their cross-town rivals and in for a tricky return this week, Betis also have a worrying reputation for their issues on the road. Including a 2-1 defeat away at Valencia in their last matchup on their travels, Thursday’s guests have failed to win any of their last six La Liga matches on the road and have remarkably scored just a sole away win so far this season.
