According to a report from AS, Real Betis are believed to be the favourites to sign West Ham United forward Lucas Perez prior to the January transfer window closing. The 30 year old has only scored twice in the Premier League this season and has fallen down the ranks at the London Stadium, failing to make much of an impact in the wake of his move from Arsenal last year. Perez seemed to find more success over in Spanish football, with a few successful runs with Deportivo La Coruna.
A move to Betis would signal the dawning of a new era for him, although a move back to Spain is no guarantee.
Schalke are also believed to have made a bid in the last few days, with the German club showcasing a real interest in securing his services.
Either way, though, Betis will have to move quickly if they want to make the deal a reality.
