Lucas ponders Liverpool future

Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva has admitted he may leave the Reds at the end of the season.

The former Brazil Under-20 captain is keen on getting his international career back on track and feels he may need to change club in order to get more regular first-team football.

“I consider that I play a lot, but the internal competition is very high,” Lucas told Folha.

“The situation doesn’t worry me right now because my objective has always been to be playing in order to be back with the national team.

“Once the season is over I will see what the best option is for me. Everybody wants to be playing in the World Cup and I will push to have this chance.

“You have to play all the time if you want to be called up.”
