Lyon youngster Lucas Tousart is in line to be rewarded with a new and improved contract at Parc OL, L’Equipe has suggested.
The 19-year-old joined les Gones from Valenciennes in the summer of 2015, and he spent his first season at the club representing the reserve side, making just one Ligue 1 appearance.
However, Tousart has since persuaded head coach Bruno Genesio to give him a chance and is already on the verge of nailing down a regular starting berth.
And with top European clubs casting admiring glances his way, Lyon are determined to ward off interest in the midfielder’s services by offering him a new contract.
Tousart has a deal until June 2019 at Parc OL, and he will not only see his current contract extended for another two or three years, but also receive a major pay rise to reflect his new status in the squad.
