Portuguese daily Record understands that Internacional are pondering a swoop for FC Porto playmaker Lucho Gonzalez.
The Brazilian giants have already managed to persuade several star players to return from Europe, including Diego Forlan, Jesus Datolo and Mario Bolatti, and they are now looking to increase their Argentine colony.
While showing interest in Malaga striker Javier Saviola, Internacional are also being linked with a move for Porto’s Lucho Gonzalez.
The Brazilian club have already contacted the player’s agent Federico Simonian, and they are hoping Gonzalez would be tempted by the lucrative offer they have prepared for him.
However, the problem is that the 32-year-old is still regarded as a key player at Estadio do Dragao, while it remains to be seen whether he would be interested in leaving his current employers.
Lucho Gonzalez has been in fine form last season, making a total of 44 competitive appearances for the Dragons and scoring no less than 10 goals.
