Lucho stays but is available for €3.5m next summer

Marseille president Vincent Labrune has moved to deny speculations that Lucho Gonzalez will leave Velodrome before the transfer window closes.

The Argentine’s absence from Friday’s training session raised many questions, but it was later revealed that he had missed training due to a stomach ache.

Marseille president says that Lucho has agreed to stay at the club for another season.

“It’s settled, it’s official: I was with Lucho this evening and I can confirm that he will stay with us this season,” Labrune was quoted as saying by L’Equipe.

It has also been reported that a new clause has been inserted in the player’s contract allowing him to leave next summer for €3.5 million.
