Juventus defender Lucio has announced his plans to join Wolfsburg in the January transfer window.
The Brazilian joined the Serie A champions in the summer, on a free transfer from Inter, but has become a bit-part player in Turin.
With Leonardo Bonucci, Andrea Barzagli, Giorgio Chiellini and Martin Caceres all in front of him in the pecking order, the 34-year-old only mustered one Serie A appearance.
He is, therefore, desperate to leave Turin in January, and admits he could be joining Bundesliga side Wolfsburg.
“I hope to leave Juve. I am unhappy because I do not play,” Lucio explained to Sport Bild. “It would be best to join Wolfsburg.”
It was in Bundesliga that the Brazilian made a name for himself, enjoying several very successful seasons with both Bayer Leverkusen and Bayern Munich.
During that time, he has won three Bundesliga titles and as many DFB Pokal trophies.
In total, Lucio has made 236 Bundesliga appearances, scoring 22 goals in the process.
