Russian newspaper Izvestia has learned that Zenit are readying bid for Bordeaux midfielder Ludovic Obraniak.
The Russian giants are eager to reinforce the squad during the winter break and thus prepare themselves for an assault on the title in Russian Premier League and Europa League.
According to Izvestia, Zenit are set to table a €10 million bid for Bordeaux playmaker Ludovic Obraniak.
The player’s representative has moved to confirm the speculation, admitting that his client is interested.
“I can assure you that we are taking this proposal into serious consideration,” agent Jean-Christophe Tuvenel said to Izvestia.
“Bordeaux are unlikely to want to let go of their leader right now, but a lot will depend on the Russians’ proposal.”
Obraniak, 28, is considered a key member of the side at Stade Chaban-Delmas, but les Girondins could jump at the opportunity to make a hefty profit from his sale, having paid just €1 million for the player a year ago.
The Poland international has been in scintillating form this season, scoring 4 goals and producing 3 assists in 15 Ligue 1 matches.
Meanwhile, Zenit are also set to sign Sevilla defender Federico Fazio for a fee of €6 million.
