Luis Enrique admits he is set to take over at Roma

Following heavy speculations linking former Barca star Luis Enrique with Roma coaching job, the Spaniard has now confirmed that the deal is set to be completed.

The two parties have been in talks over the last few days, with Luis Enrique offered a two-year deal reportedly worth €1.6 million per season.

The Spaniard seems to have already reached an agreement with the Serie A side, as witnessed by his latest comments.

“I really like the Roma project, there are just some details before we can define the agreement,” Enrique told Il Corriere dello Sport.

“Roma is a cake which no one goes against.”

The talented coach admits his former teammate Ivan de la Pena could join him as part of the coaching staff at Olimpico.

“De La Pena has a great chance to take part in this journey.”
