Barcelona boss Luis Enrique announced that he will be leaving the Spanish giants in the summer

Luis Enrique praised his team’s measure of control after Paris Saint-Germain swatted aside Lyon 3-1 on Sunday.

Lyon’s nine-match unbeaten run came to an end as goals from Ousmane Dembele, Vitinha and Goncalo Ramos sealed the points for PSG.

Luis Enrique’s team are now seven points clear of Marseille at the summit of Ligue 1. With the winter break approaching, PSG hold the only unbeaten record in France’s top tier.

Georges Mikautadze dragged Lyon back into the contest before half-time by making it 2-1, but Luis Enrique was thrilled with how his side saw off Lyon’s threat in the second half.

“We played against an opponent full of confidence, and I think we were at a very good level,” said Luis Enrique, who will oversee his 50th Ligue 1 match in charge of PSG when they take on Monaco on Wednesday.

“At the end of the first half, conceding that goal may have cost us a bit, but when you’re up against players of this calibre, it’s important to make very few mistakes and on the whole, we’re happy.”

PSG recorded 60.8% successful duels, their highest percentage in a Ligue 1 match this season. Lyon’s 39.2% success rate represented their second-lowest percentage in 2024-25.

The hosts led 2-0 by the 15th minute at the Parc des Princes, with Desire Doue integral to their fast start.

He teed up Dembele for the winger’s sixth goal in 18 games in all competitions this term, before then winning a penalty, which was converted by Vitinha.

Doue said: “I felt very good. Once again tonight I tried to listen to the coach’s advice, to apply the tactics and also to help my team-mates. Try to do my best to perform and to help the team.

“It is also for the fans who encourage us all the time. They always push us, even in the most difficult moments we have had recently. We are coming back well and that is the most important thing.”

With 11 wins and four draws from 15 games in Ligue 1 this season, PSG are one of just three teams still unbeaten in the top 10 European leagues, alongside Juventus and Galatasaray.
