Luis Enrique praised the focus of Paris Saint-Germain’s players during their 1-0 victory over Toulouse on Saturday.

Following second-place Marseille’s 5-1 rout of Saint-Etienne earlier in the day, PSG restored their 10-point lead at the Ligue 1 summit thanks to Fabian Ruiz’s second-half strike at Stadium de Toulouse.

Luis Enrique’s side remain unbeaten after their opening 22 league matches of the season, while they extended their winning streak across all competitions to six games.

PSG switch their focus back to the Champions League on Wednesday, when they host fellow Ligue 1 side Brest in the second leg of their knockout phase playoff.

The 2019-20 finalists are in a strong position to qualify for the last 16 with a 3-0 lead from the first leg earlier this week.

And Luis Enrique was pleased by the way his players maintained their concentration levels in between the two legs for their trip to Toulouse.

“This was a league match between two Champions League matches, where losing focus is very easy,” the Spaniard said. “Yet, I think it’s a very important quality that we have, that we compete at a high level.

“The intention is the same, no matter who wears the Paris shirt. Our objective was to have many players who could compete and win, regardless of the line-up.

“It’s a very important victory. We like being competitive in every match, in every moment of a game. And I want to congratulate my team.

“I think we need to keep working on what we’re doing well, continue improving and do everything we can to extend this great run we’re on.”
