Spanish coach Luis Enrique has moved to deny reports that he will be leaving Roma at the end of the season.
The talented tactician is tipped to return to Camp Nou if Pep Guardiola decides not to extend his Barcelona deal.
However, Enrique has moved to reject transfer speculations by stating that he planned to honour his contract with Roma.
“Taking about future in football is a utopia,” Luis Enrique said at a press conference before the Atalanta game.
“The only sure thing is that this group has shown to have a great confidence in me when things were not going as we planned at the start, and, if they want me, I’ll stay here until the end of the contract.”
Luis Enrique took over the reigns at Roma last summer and signed a two-year deal with the Giallorossi.
The Spanish coach has had a mixed success during his first season in Italy, but club chiefs have voiced their confidence in his abilities on numerous occasions.
Roma currently occupy fifth place in the Serie A standings, and the Giallorossi are four points adrift of third-placed Udinese.
Having already dropped out of the Europa League and Coppa Italia, Champions League qualification through league finish remains the only objective for Roma.
