Uruguay were eliminated from this year’s Copa America on penalties in the quarterfinals at the hands of Peru after the game ended goalless.
Their arguably biggest star, Barcelona striker Luis Suarez, was the culprit as Peru goalkeeper Pedro Gallese stopped his shot from the spot, the first of the shootout, and the remaining takers all managed to do what Suarez had failed.
