Brazilian midfielder Luiz Gustavo has poured cold water on speculation linking him with a move away from the club.
The highly rated footballer has been on the radar of Europe’s top clubs ever since he joined the Wolves last summer, but Wolfsburg have somehow managed to keep hold of his services.
And Gustavo has now decided to pledge his future to the Wolves, having revealed that he is unlikely to be moving clubs any time soon.
“I am very happy, VfL Wolfsburg is a great club to play for and I like living in Germany and the German mentality,” the Brazilian confessed to Sport Bild.
“I feel my future is here and I am able to imagine playing on for many years, because I identify with the city of Wolfsburg. Wolfsburg is a workers’ city, this suits me!”
Luiz Gustavo joined the Wolves in a surprise move from Bayern Munich and he enjoyed a pretty good debut season, scoring 4 goals in 29 Bundesliga appearances.
The 27-year-old in turn made six starts for Brazil at the 2014 World Cup finals, and he kept his place in the squad with the arrival of new coach Carlos Dunga. Gustavo has so far earned 27 Brazil caps and scored one goal.
