Wolfsburg hotshot Luiz Gustavo has failed to pledge his future to the club amidst speculation linking him with a summer exit.
The Brazilian has enjoyed a very successful campaign with the Wolves that saw them lift DFB Pokal trophy and secure Champions League qualification, but it appears that is not enough to persuade him to stay.
Having failed to prove his worth at Bayern Munich, the 27-year-old clearly wants another chance to show everyone he is capable of competing at the highest level.
Gustavo admits that it would be difficult for him to reject a top European club in the future.
“I am very happy at Wolfsburg and very grateful to VfL. But, I cannot say that I am going to finish my career here,” Gustavo told Sport Bild.
“Every player dreams of playing for an absolute top club. If I should get another opportunity to join such a club, then it would be like a gift to me.”
Gustavo joined Wolfsburg following an unsuccessful spell with Bayern Munich, during which he made 64 Bundesliga appearances and scored 4 goals.
Since arriving at Volkswagen Arena, the Brazilian has netted 6 times in 60 league appearances. He was very unfortunate to miss out on the 2015 Copa America through a knee injury.
