Luiz move to Barca resting on managerial situation

The Express understands that David Luiz’s proposed move to Barcelona will depend on the Catalan club’s proposed new manager — former player Luis Enrique.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is ready to cash in on the Brazil international, who made just fifteen starts in the Premier League during the 2013/14 campaign, as he looks to raise funds in order to sign Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa.

Barca have long been linked with a move for the 27 year old, and they could launch a bid this summer though first their managerial situation will need to be resolved.

Current head coach Gerardo Martino is widely tipped to depart after Saturday’s crucial match against Atletico Madrid, a game which will see the winners crowned champions.

Celta Vigo manager Luis Enrique, who spent eight years as a player at the Nou Camp, is the odds on favourite to be in charge of the Catalan club next season.
