According to a recent report from Le 10 Sport, Arsenal have asked defender David Luiz to assist them in trying to secure the signing of free agent Thiago Silva this summer.
The former Paris Saint-Germain veteran is on the hunt for a new club, and despite being in the twilight of his career, the expectation is that he will receive more than a few offers during the summer transfer window.
Luiz recently signed a new deal of his own at the Emirates, and while it may have been a controversial move in the eyes of many fans, it does appear as if he’s going to have his benefits off the pitch as well as on it.
Of course, the fact that they’re teammates with the Brazilian national team is one thing, but actually getting him to agree to join Mikel Arteta’s project is going to be the biggest challenge of all.
