Borussia Moenchengladbach are considering a move for Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku, according to a report.
Lucien Favre’s side are second in the Bundesliga, and on course for a Champions League berth, but are hopeful of securing the 18-year-old striker on loan next season, according to Express.
Lukaku moved from Anderlecht to Chelsea last summer for 22 million euros, but has since found game time hard to come by, having featured in just six Premier League games.
Moenchengladbach player and fellow Belgian Igor de Camargo has praised the powerful goalscorer, and feels Lukaku would be an excellent addition to his side.
“Romelu has a lot of competition at Chelsea, there are a lot of big names, so it is of course very difficult for any player trying to break through,” he said.
“He is a great guy, who plays with a lot of strength, an important player for the Belgian national team. (He is) an interesting, very good lad.”
In addition to Lukaku, Moenchengladbach have been linked with Hamburg-contracted winger Maximilian Beister, who has spent the season on loan at Fortuna Dusseldorf.
Should a move be completed, Lukaku would not be the first player to move to the Borussia-Park on loan.
Manchester United’s Joshua King signed on a one-year loan in August, but was plagued by injuries in the first half of the season and only played in two games before being sent home early in January.
