Lukaku to decide Chelsea future himself

Romelu Lukaku is working hard to get his career back on track this season, playing on loan at Inter Milan after his season back at Chelsea went significantly worse than he’d have expected.

It has already been decided that he won’t remain at the Giuseppe Meazza past the summer, but according to The Telegraph, the striker will be asked to decide for himself if he wants to try and revive his Chelsea career under Mauricio Pochettino. The Argentian tactician is set to be confirmed as the new manager at Stamford Bridge and take his duties in June.

The 29-year-old Belgium international hasn’t done particularly well since rejoining Inter at the start of the season, scoring just nine goals in 26 matches in all competitions for Simone Inzaghi’s side. It should, however, be said that three different injuries have caused him to miss a total of 15 games this term.

For the time being, Lukaku remains focused on finishing the season strongly as Inter battle to finish inside the top four and prepare to face city rivals AC Milan in the semifinals of the Champions League.
