Enjoying their most impressive run under Gary Monk, Birmingham will have the chance to close the gap on the top six when they host Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday.
Starting with Gary Monk’s side, while the Blues may have spent the most part of last season battling it out at the bottom of the table, Birmingham are enjoying a very bright start to the season. Picking up a 2-1 win over Reading on Tuesday, Monk’s men are now enjoying a three-match winning run and have extended their unbeaten run to double digits. One man who has epitomised Birmingham start is top scorer Lukas Jutkiewicz. Finding the net against the Royals in midweek, the 29-year-old has now bagged five in his last six Champions appearances.
As for the visitors, while an impressive start may have seen Sheffield Wednesday sneak into the playoff positions, Jos Luhukay’s side have begun to show some struggles. Coming off the back of a very poor showing in their 3-0 hammering away at QPR, the Owls have now recorded just one win in their last five. Still yet to record a clean sheet in the Championship this season, they also hold the second worst defensive record in the division.
Bet: Lukas Jutkiewicz 7/4 to score anytime against Sheffield Wednesday in Saturdays Championship clash @ Bet 365
