Sky Sports has learned that English forward Luke Moore is set to complete a move to Chivas USA.
The 27-year-old is a free agent after he was released from his contract at Elazigspor, and he was widely tipped to return to England, with clubs from the Premier League and Championship expressing interest.
Nevertheless, Sky Sports has suggested that he has instead decided to move to the United States, having agreed a deal to join MLS side Chivas USA.
The player’s official representative Peter Morrison has moved to confirm speculations linking his client with a move to the MLS.
“Luke has never hidden his desire to play abroad, which was the main reason behind his move to Turkey,” Morrison told Sky Sports.
“It has seemed he would be playing back in the UK again, and a number of clubs were keen – but then this chance came in for him to move to America and was just too good for him to turn down.”
Before signing for Elazigspor in the summer of 2013, Moore had spent his entire career in England, having played for Aston Villa, West Bromwich, Derby County and Swansea.
The striker has made a total of 145 Premier League appearances and scored 19 goals in the process.
