After speculation about the possible loan of Andriy Lunin from Real Madrid to Real Valladolid, Marca have reported that the young Ukrainian goalkeeper would indeed be going there.
The 20-year-old is not Valladolid’s first loan from Madrid, however, as Javi Sánchez and Jorge de Frutos joined Ronaldo’s club some time ago. The loan of Real Madrid’s attacking midfielder Takefusa Kubo is also being discussed, but the Japanese’s future at the club is still up in the air.
The move of Lunin and Kubo to Valladolid would be a lucky coincidence, as the two reportedly struck up a close friendship while Real Madrid was in North America during pre-season. They also have a solid command of the Spanish language.
Although Lunin was on loan to Leganes during his contract with Madrid, he was reluctant to return to the royal club for fear of lack of game-time. The move to Valladolid, however, might be the Ukrainin’s chance to take minutes away from Jordi Masip and get more time on the pitch.
