Luton Town 13/10 to beat QPR in Tuesday’s Championship contest

Competition: Championship

Market: Luton Town win

Odds: 13/10 @ 888sport

Looking to extend on what has been a real purple patch on home soil, Luton will welcome QPR to an empty Kenilworth Road on Tuesday night.

Starting with the hosts, while Luton might have found themselves enduring a mini blip over the festive period, the Hatters have managed to bounce back in an eye-catching fashion. Booking their spot in the fourth-round of this year’s FA Cup after picking up a 1-0 win against Reading at Kenilworth Road, the Whites were also last seen out on Championship duties when signing off 2020 with a 2-1 victory against Bristol City. Shocking many across England’s second-tier this season and within striking distance of finding a route into the top-half of the table, Nathan Jones’ men have also gained a real reputation for their continued success on home soil. Including those back-to-back wins over the past fortnight, the one-time Stoke boss finds his side enjoying a five-match unbeaten run in Bedfordshire, winning four of those appearances. More impressive, Luton also managed to land a 3-1 romp against title-chasers Norwich on home soil last month.

As for the visitors, while QPR might have put on a rugged display on FA Cup duties over the weekend, the Hoops saw local rivals Fulham end their adventure on home soil. Eventually suffering a 2-0 loss against the Premier League relegation scrappers, the West London outfit now find themselves in the midst of a real worrying patch. Firmly looking over their shoulder and opening Tuesday’s fixtures holding just a two-point buffer over the drop zone, it appears that the pressure is really mounting on Mark Warburton’s shoulders. Struggling to find much form in the final third, QPR now find themselves in the midst of a 10-match winless run, a run that stems all the way back to November 24th. With some around the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium fearing their side are destined for a relegation scrap this year, we’re backing a home victory on Tuesday night.
