Odds: 7/4 @ Bet 365

Looking to shore up their position in the race for a top-four finish, Lyon will welcome rock-bottom Guingamp to Groupama Stadium on Friday night.

Starting with Lyon, coming off the back of a shock 1-0 loss away at Nice last weekend, there is no doubt that Bruno Génésio will be calling for an immediate response. Winning their five matches previous to the defeat, Friday’s hosts should also be boosted by their recent record against Guingamp. Lyon have won their last four meetings against the visitors, scoring two or more goals in each victory. One man to watch for the Champions League contenders will be leading goalscorer Nabil Fekir. After rejecting interest from Liverpool over the summer, the French international has already bagged 10 goals this campaign.

As for the visitors, coming off the back of a 2-0 loss away at Lille and now sat six points adrift of safety, it is no surprise that Guingamp are favorites for the drop this season. While they may have now lost their last three Ligue 1 appearances on the bounce, they should be boosted by their recent record away from the Stade du Roudourou. Jocelyn Gourvennec’s men have won five of their last six matches on the road across all competitions, including a 2-1 win over PSG in the Coupe de la Ligue. While we do expect Lyon to come away with the victory on Friday, we’re backing Guingamp to find the net at some point in the 90 minutes.
