Lyon chairman Jean-Michel Aulas has said in no uncertain terms that hotshot Nabil Fekir will not be leaving Stade Gerland in January.
The attacking midfielder has emerged as the latest les Gones footballer to be linked with a big club move, with Arsenal and Manchester City reportedly keen on his services.
However, Lyon seem determined to keep hold of their star player for as long as possible and president Jean-Michel Aulas has suggested they do not need to sell any of their stars.
“We had a board of directors (meeting) today, the trend is that there are no departures,” Aulas told Radio Monte Carlo. “He (Fekir) will stay with us.”
It is hardly surprising that les Gones are determined to keep the squad together given that Lyon seem ready to mount a serious title challenge in French Ligue 1.
Remi Garde’s charges have just closed the gap behind leaders Marseille to two points and they can be backed at 12/1 to lift the coveted trophy.
Nabil Fekir, 21, has been one of club’s star performers this season, having managed 6 goals and 3 assists in 14 Ligue 1 matches.
