Lyon’s French international Sidney Govou is facing a long lay-off after picking up a serious injury to his right ankle, his club said on Wednesday.
The 29-year-old limped off after 30 minutes in Tuesday’s 1-1, Champions League draw at Bayern Munich and will have a scan on Thursday to fully assess the damage.
The forward has been ruled out of Sunday’s league match against Rennes and France’s two World Cup qualifying games against Romania and Tunisia on October 11 and 14.
