Ligue 1 high flyers Lyon have moved to reveal that star midfielder Clement Grenier will be placed on the transfer list.
The 25-year-old was one of league’s most sought-after players just a couple of years back, but a difficult injury sustained last summer had a detrimental effect on his career.
He has since returned into action, but was unable to win back a place in the starting line-up, albeit scoring 1 goal in 14 league appearances this season.
However, Grenier’s days at Stade Gerland appears to be numbered as chairman Jean-Michel Aulas confirmed the midfielder was now available for sale.
“We will place him on the transfer list. Not to make money, but because it is an opportunity for him to regain momentum. At the moment, he is not in a good place,” Aulas said at a conference.
Clement Grenier is another high-quality footballer to have come out of Lyon’s famous youth academy and he has so far amassed 107 Ligue 1 appearances, scoring 13 goals.
Arsenal, Inter Milan, AC Milan, AS Roma and Newcastle United are among clubs who were showing interest in his services.
